Characters derived from the anime exhibit distinct swordsmanship skills. While controlling a hero, players can utilize all abilities and weapons, switching between offensive and defensive strategies fluidly.
Since all heroes share the goal of defeating the malicious boss and their minions, you can block incoming attacks effectively or dive into aggressive actions that unleash the full potential of your character. Each tactic has its advantages and disadvantages; hence quick adjustments are essential based on situations and characteristics of each enemy encountered.
When confronting powerful adversaries, collecting loot from weaker Monsters is advisable. Here, focused defense against stronger bosses may be a viable strategy. Yet, once you’ve honed your skills, shifting to offense allows for quicker victories and unlocking more potent abilities.

Authentic 3D action battle
The main quest introduces an original narrative set within "Cross Edge," crafted collaboratively by the original creators. Players delve into action-packed battles, commanding three characters at once. Utilize game controls for disruptive assaults using standard attacks and active skills, with a unique "switch" mechanic facilitating seamless transitions and special moves simultaneously.
Employing this mechanic enables thrilling combo opportunities such as executing skill → switch → skill sequences! Moreover, the damage inflicted fills a gauge necessary for entering an "awakening" state. In this state, cooldown periods for skills and switches are non-existent, permitting the use of overwhelming finishing skills showcased in dynamic action scenes.
Get and develop characters and ability cards!
Characters in battle are composed of three unique individuals, each equipped with specialized abilities, awakening techniques, and traits. These primarily can be acquired through gacha mechanics, where even identical characters can sport various costumes and skills. Additionally, there exists an "Ability Card" as an item for enhancements, while characters feature levels, level limits, potential releases, and exclusive training menus for maximizing growth.

Previous mobile games within the "Sword Art Online" franchise included 2D scrolling RPGs and MMO3D action RPGs. However, this title marks the first RPG focused on thrilling combo actions. Its operation resembles the company’s renowned Tales series, featuring combinations of normal strikes, skills, and switches.
Players can dodge incoming attacks using an evasion button, enjoying invincibility upon activation of switches. The gameplay facilitates intensely exhilarating combo action sequences that alternate effectively between attacks and skills.
